چکیده

A 21-year-old male presented to our hospital for life-threatening pelvic fracture, mandating emergent transarterial embolization of the right internal pudendal artery. At five-month post-injury, penile arterial flow was severely impaired, thus revascularization surgery were planned, before attempting urethroplasty a 2-cm gap in posterior urethra. However, reevaluation angiography results obtained two months later revealed spontaneous recovery flow. Excision and primary anastomosis successfully performed without signs bulbar ischemia. This case suggests that timing following injury should be tailored according

Gait coordination after stroke: benefits of acoustically paced treadmill walking.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Gait coordination often is compromised after stroke. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of acoustically paced treadmill walking as a method for improving gait coordination in people after stroke. PARTICIPANTS Ten people after stroke volunteered for the study and comprised the experimental group. Nine elderly people who were healthy served as a contro...

Spatiotemporal Parameters of Uphill, Level and Downhill Walking Are Similar between Treadmill and Overground Surfaces

Treadmill walking gait analyses are frequently conducted due to their ease of collecting multiple strides of data, minimal space required and ability to finely control speed. The question of whether treadmill (TM) walking gait replicates overground (OG) walking gait on a level surface, has been extensively studied. From a spatiotemporal perspective, TM walking on a level surface generally simul...

Rhythm perturbations in acoustically paced treadmill walking after stroke.

BACKGROUND In rehabilitation, acoustic rhythms are often used to improve gait after stroke. Acoustic cueing may enhance gait coordination by creating a stable coupling between heel strikes and metronome beats and provide a means to train the adaptability of gait coordination to environmental changes, as required in everyday life ambulation. OBJECTIVE To examine the stability and adaptability ...

Self-paced versus fixed speed treadmill walking.

Instrumented treadmills are increasingly used in gait research, although the imposed walking speed is suggested to affect gait performance. A feedback-controlled treadmill that allows subjects to walk at their preferred speed, i.e. functioning in a self-paced (SP) mode, might be an attractive alternative, but could disturb gait through accelerations of the belt. We compared SP with fixed speed ...

Spatiotemporal Parameters are not Substantially Influenced by Load Carriage or Inclination During Treadmill and Overground Walking

Influences of load carriage and inclination on spatiotemporal parameters were examined during treadmill and overground walking. Ten soldiers walked on a treadmill and overground with three load conditions (00 kg, 20 kg, 40 kg) during level, uphill (6% grade) and downhill (-6% grade) inclinations at self-selected speed, which was constant across conditions. Mean values and standard deviations fo...
